Our Teachers
Bruno Figueiredo is a Brazilian Forró teacher who has been central to bringing Forró culture to Norway. He started teaching in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais during the early rise of Forró Universitário, and after moving to Norway in 2003, he launched the first Forró classes at the University of Oslo in 2007.
Ieva Toleikyte-Celestino discovered Forró in 2014 after dancing various styles since childhood — and it quickly became her favorite. For her, Forró’s magic is how it lifts your mood and leaves you feeling joyful. Now she wants to share that joy through teaching. Give it a try — it might become your favorite too!

Classes
Forró classes in 2026 start in January and run weekly on Thursdays. Next classes begin January 15, 2026, with Intermediate level at 17:30-18:45 and Beginner level at 18:45-20:00. All skill levels welcome!
Mini Forró Oslo Festival
Our annual festival includes live music, dance workshops, and social dances. Join us for the Oslo Forró Festival on March 13-14, 2026, with an amazing program coming soon!

The Origin of Forró Oslo
In 2012, Torsdagsforró (Forró on Thursdays) was born. Through concerts featuring Brazilian trios, it brought together Norwegians, Brazilians, and people from many other nationalities, all united by their love of Forró.
During this time, the word ForrÓSLOzeiros appeared on the group’s T-shirts. It came to mean: “A bunch of friends from Oslo who dance and travel together to Forró festivals around Europe.”
In 2025, the community took a new step forward with the founding of the Forró Oslo Association and the launch of our yearly Forró Festival.
